Mechanic Soap

Making our mechanic/gardener/kitchen soap today. We use beef tallow in the recipe along with triple brewed coffee and an essential oil blend that smells like fresh citrus.

At trace we add fresh coffee and pumice for exfoliation.

I wish the color stayed this beautiful "cafe au lait" color....

...but it turns a dark brown...and thats ok...it smells fresh and fabulous!

Today we also dehydrated some tomato wedges for our very own sun dried tomatoes....

...and we had a visitor that I was none to happy about. The coyotes scare me because of our lil chihuahua...they seem to want to snack on him, so I get nervous when I see them right outside my gate. This guy was waiting for a buddy that soon appeared and the two went off down the road...life of living in the boonies I suppose.

Beautiful soap! I think coffee soaps look fabulous no matter the color, but I too still wish that cafe au lait color would stay around! I hope those tomatoes are yummy and that those coyotes stay away!

Best soapy wishes!

I’ve heard great things about coffee in soap to help take away odors. Your soap turned out awesome! =)

Every time I make coffee soap it starts that lovely toffee brown and then gets darker. I'm with you - would love it to stay creamy and light, but also kind of dig the dark, as well.
This soap turned out so pretty. I love anything coffee. Pumice, huh? I have got to try that!

Great soap Stacie! I've never used coffee in soap, but I've heard really good things about it.

I would be very nervous to see that coyote too...hopefully he and his buddy stay away! :)
