Hurricane Alex coming to AZ?

Monsoons blew in and it poured rain like crazy this afternoon...of course right when it was time to go to a meeting we had in the next building over...but when you dress for work for your usual 100 degree weather....you arent very prepared for a cold rain.

So we used our resources...and well the life jackets just looked like too much fun so we had to add them to our ensemble to make for a better entrance.

Toy Story 3

We went today to see Toy Story 3 today with our oldest daughter and her family.

Had a great time. Very cute movie!! We saw the first one back when our youngest daughter was small....but we never saw #2. We will now have to rent it! :)

#3 was very enjoyable to watch...well except for the infant sitting behind us that fussed most the movie...other than that it was great. There was a teary moment...somehow I always seem to cry through every kids movie.

Scent Spotlight – Lemon Zest

Our Lemon Zest is a wonderful lemon fragrance with notes of lemongrass, litsea cubea, orange oil and vanilla.

Because of the vanilla content the soap will turn a tan shade, but this does not detract from its yummy fragrance.

Trying to Step Out Of My Box

I think my soaps are nice…very nice actually, but then I see some people do these awesome gorgeous super cool creations…and I think why can’t I do that. Well I can…I am just the personality that stays safe and with what I know.

But then I decided to enter this fun lil beach themed contest that someone is hosting on etsy…hmm, what can I do with soap and have a beach theme?

I have this wonderful fragrance oil that has been just sitting here for a couple of months begging to be used…it is called Arizona Sunrise…well no oceanfront property here in AZ, but I still want to “play” on the sun…so I first had to make my sun on day/part 1…

Then it was all hands on deck for day/part 2 as we made the sand and the sky and embed the “sun”. I don’t have any pictures of us in action, but The Hubs stirred the clouds/white…Baby Girl stirred the sky/blue…and I stirred the sand/brown…then it was poured and put to bed.

Then I started cleaning up and yelled…(louder than I realized)…"OH MY GOSH" and The Hubs and Baby Girl came running…WHAT???...I just then realized…I forgot to put the scent in the sand and sky. OOPS! So only the sun is scented, but it is all good….I personally think the results are gorgeous!

Chili Cookoff!

This has to have been the funnest show we have done to date. Of course the one in the prettiest area as well, and do you think I took my camera??? Nope!!

We started off making the wrong turn and ended into a nearby show...oops. So had to get out of there and go the .4 down the road to ours. It was in this cute little park surrounded by tall pines....OH MY do I love the smell of our Prescott Pines!!!

We set up, and met the funnest booth neighbors we have EVER had, and we just had the best day ever.

We tasted some "world class" chili...the winner was going off to the world championship...but I just gotta say...I like my chili best! lol

It threatened rain all day, but we had just clouds and a little wind...not typical Flag winds, so it was nice. Not many people came out, but we truly had the best day ever!

If you get a chance stop by our new friends facebook site and "like" them and say hi! They have some great purses and accessories.

Scent Spotlight – Sage Citrus

This scent is an interesting one. The scent description is…A blend of earthy sage, luxurious talc, with a hint of lemon-lime to create a natural harmony.

It is fun to see what everyone smells…few get the citrus, and most can smell the sage, but my initial scent is the talc.

Whichever layer you pick up on it is a nice light scent in our lotions, and for the soap it changes the color to a light brown/dark tan so we leave that natural and don’t add any additional coloring to it.

Scent Spotlight – Lavender

I have found this to be a love it or hate it scent. I personally love lavender. I find it very calming…so I am surprised to find quite a few people actually do not like lavender at all.

This makes for a nice soft lotion scent, not very floral, but not herbally either. For the soap we add in a purple mica swirl for color.

We do not add lavender buds as some people do and this is a personal preference. The lavender buds will turn brown in the process, and doesn’t give as pleasing a look as we would like.
